KNOWLEDGE, ATTITUDES, AND PRACTICES REGARDING SEASONAL INFLUENZA VACCINATION AMONG PREVENTIVE MEDICINE STUDENTS AT HANOI MEDICAL UNIVERSITY IN 2024 AND SOME RELATED FACTORS

Nghiên cứu mô tả cắt ngang được thực hiện vào tháng 12 năm 2024 trên 447 sinh viên Y học dự phòng
tại Trường Đại học Y Hà Nội nhằm đánh giá về kiến thức, thái độ, thực hành về tiêm vắc xin phòng bệnh
cúm mùa và phân tích một số yếu tố liên quan. Kết quả cho thấy 404/447 (90,4%) sinh viên có điểm kiến
thức đạt, 418/447 (93,5%) sinh viên có thái độ tích cực, tuy nhiên chỉ có 103/447 (23%) sinh viên đã tiêm
vắc xin phòng bệnh cúm mùa trong năm qua. Chưa tìm thấy mối liên quan có ý nghĩa thống kê giữa đặc
điểm nhân khẩu học, mức độ kiến thức, thái độ với thực hành tiêm vắc xin. Nghiên cứu gợi ý cần có các
chiến lược can thiệp phù hợp nhằm nâng cao tỷ lệ tiêm phòng cúm mùa ở nhóm sinh viên Y học dự phòng
– những cán bộ y tế dự phòng tương lai.
Summary:
A cross-sectional descriptive study was
conducted in December 2024 on 447 Preventive
Medicine students at Hanoi Medical University
with the aim of describing the knowledge,
attitudes, and practices regarding seasonal
influenza vaccination and analysing some
related factors. The results showed that 404/447
(90.4%) students had satisfactory knowledge
scores, 418/447 (93.5%) students had positive
attitudes, but only 103/447 (23%) students had
received seasonal influenza vaccination in the
past year. No statistically significant association
has been found between demographic
characteristics, level of knowledge, attitudes,
and vaccination practices. The study suggests
that appropriate intervention strategies are
needed to improve the seasonal influenza
vaccination rate among preventive medicine
students – the future public health workforce.
